Students demonstrating weaknesses in reading may need very specific programs that focus on decoding and phonemic awareness, comprehension and/or reading fluency. At Tutoring & Instructional Services, we offer a range of reading programs developed to meet the needs of the student.  Many of our reading instructors have been trained in specialized reading and spelling programs such as Orton-Gillingham, the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS), and Precision Teaching. We also offer programs in comprehension, such as the Lindamood Bell Verbalization & Visualization program and Project Read Written Expression. In addition, all of our reading programs help the student develop improved skills in fluency and spelling. This workshop will teach parents about the nuances of reading deficits and describe the most commonly used, well-researched reading programs that have improve students’ reading levels. Our panel of experts will include reading specialists and parents of students who have participated in our reading programs.
