Parker Academy Makes Strides Against Breast Cancer
<< Go back to list

On October 18th, the Parker Academy team gathered with their team captains, Heather and Liz Parker, at Memorial Field in Concord for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. With temperatures bordering freezing, and in rain mixed with snow, team members bundled up and walked the 5 mile loop in spite of the weather. This year’s Making Strides walk raised a total of $529, 498, which will be use to fund research and development of new treatment and prevention methods. Parker Academy was the leading company in donations raised and the top 5th team, raising a total of $7,678.99! In the weeks leading up to the event, students and teachers at Parker Academy raised money by hosting raffles and soliciting donations from friends and family (and other teachers!). Despite the less than desirable weather, the team completed the walk with wet shoes and smiles on their faces, knowing that their efforts made an impact in the fight against breast cancer. Congratulations and thank you to all of the Parker Academy community for your support!
